1st Scrapbook Challenge @Shabby Princess

I've recently started a new hobby of digital scrapbooking. Being a first time Mom, I've taken hundreds of photo of Airysa. Of course, I wanted a way to better journal and organize her growth and searched for something like photo journal. In the end, it led to digital scrapbooking. With lots of scrapbookers and scrapbook related website and shop, I started to learn bits and bits about scrapbooking.

Here is my first attempt at joining a Scrapbook Challenge at Shabby Princess

Airysa's 1st Birthday Party

I am not a creative person. I can’t draw and I can’t make beautiful art crafts. What I can do is spend too much time browsing online. I saw tons of beautiful birthday parties photo and read about how Moms prepared for the party. Naturally, I wanted one of my own so when Airysa turned 1, I decided to throw a small birthday party.

 Location

I decided to hold the party at home because it’s the most comfortable and familiar place for Airysa.

Party Theme

Since Airysa is only 1 and has no favorite character yet, I decided to go with her current fave, balloons. Also, since her Chinese horoscope is a cow, I decided to use a cute girly cow character.

Play Area

I’ve attended too many at home parties where the children basically have nothing much to do but play with limited toys while the parents chat and gossip so I decided to rent some toys and create a play area for the kid guests. I wanted it to be a kid focus party and not parents focus. I didn't create any activities or games area for them yet as the guests are pretty young (1-3 years old), but I definitely look forward to throwing a party for older kids in the future. There would be more activities available to do.

Dessert Table

Considering that I don’t have too many guests (only 8 children and 20 adults), I decided to just use my coffee table as the dessert/cake table. Following the examples of many beautiful dessert tables I saw online, I designed a simple dessert table with whatever plates, cups, and glasses that I already had at home. Souvenirs

I wanted a souvenir that is both fun and educating. After a long search, I found a couple of doll-books that are adorable and gives the children an opportunity to read. They are small enough to be taken everywhere.
